Vintage Schick Twist-to-open Safety Razor

Offered for your consideration is a vintage SCHICK Double-Edge safety razor c.1965. This twist-to-open razor was SCHICK’s first departure from their venerable Injector system and is basically a Gillette copy. It is often incorrectly referred to as a KRONA, which is a different SCHICK model that actually has KRONA imprinted on one of the butterfly doors, and a black, not chrome, twist knob. So, please take a look at my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if this capable SCHICK razor should be yours. This SCHICK Double-Edge razor is in clean, very good condition. Often referred to as the “long handle” SCHICK, it measures a full 4” long with 1⅝” shaving head width. There are no dings, true scratches, or finish loss noted, just some light marks from use as expected. The chrome, with matte-finished doors, still retains plenty of shine. Plus, the textured handle and chrome knob are also in great shape. And the mechanism opens smoothly and locks down tight. It presents quite nicely overall What’s more, I’ve given it a good soaking and brush washing it in very hot water with mild dish soap. Any additional sterilization or polishing I’ll leave to the new owner’s discretion, but I think you’ll agree that it’s in great shape as is. At just over 2 ounces, it feels well-balanced and substantial unlike most razors of today—it’ll be a terrific shaver for most beards.
